Minnetonka5K Auction

Both of our families (the Nelsen family and the Nawrocki family) are affected by ectodermal dysplasia, a rare genetic condition. We have since met families from many other states who share our journey.

Together our families organize and host giant fundraising events like the Minnetonka5K. Over the years, our efforts have raised about $100,000 for the NFED. This year our goal is $25,000. This auction will help us reach our goal so be generous. It goes to a cause dear to us, the NFED (www.nfed.org).

Due to Covid we are doing a combo of an onsite walk/auction and a virtual walk/auction with our Minnetonka5K. We hope you will participate wherever: at home on a tread mill, in a park or just in your neighborhood. Have fun with this and check out our auction items.

Ectodermal dysplasias are a series of rare disorders that typically inhibit development and function of the teeth, nails, hair and sweet glands. Ectodermal dysplasias also can affect the skin, lens or retina of the eye, parts of the inner ear, development of fingers and toes, and nerves. Each syndrome usually involves a different combination of symptoms.

The National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED) is the worldwide expert on ectodermal dysplasias and the only advocacy organization in the United States dedicated to those living with these disorders. The mission of the NFED is to empower and connect people touched by ectodermal dysplasias through education, support and research.
