HELP MICHAL FIGHT FOR HIS FUTURE

We are the Coastal Tsunami, a Junior Hockey team proudly based on the Sunshine Coast. Our team is built on more than hockey,  it’s built on community, connection, and showing up for one another when it matters most. 

This fundraiser was created to support our friend Michal Habetin and his family after a tragic accident changed their lives in an instant. 

After a devastating collision during a hockey game, Michal suffered life-altering injuries, including a severe spinal injury. He underwent major surgery to fuse C3–C5 and now faces a long and challenging road ahead. Michal and his partner, Taryn, are preparing for months of hospitalization and rehabilitation, while their daily lives and livelihood have been completely upended. 

The response from our community has been incredible. Local businesses - both from the Sunshine Coast and beyond - stepped forward with overwhelming generosity, donating items, experiences, and services to help support Michal and his family during this difficult time. 

This fundraiser includes a live auction, silent auction, and online auction, organized around our home game. The online auction has been reopened to ensure that anyone who could not attend the game in person - as well as supporters from outside the community - can still take part. 

Funds raised through this auction will help cover both immediate and long-term expenses, including:

• Medical and rehabilitation needs not covered by insurance

Coastal Tsunami Junior Hockey is a community-driven Junior A team based on the Sunshine Coast, dedicated to developing young athletes and bringing fast-paced, family-friendly hockey entertainment to our fans.
