About Mentors, Inc.
Did you know that Mentors, Inc. is the first mentoring organization in Washington, DC? The first 30 years matched over 4,000 DC high school teens with mentors for a community-based one-on-one relationship. Now, the student experience evolves with the "Mentoring Road Map," a one-year journey of exploration around academics, college, career, and personal development. Help all 100 students we'll serve next year enjoy all the benefits the Mentoring Road Map has to offer! A goal of $25,000 will support a new group of 15 eighth graders on their one-to four-year mentoring journey! You can help position Mentors, Inc. for years to come.
Our mission is to increase the graduation rates and success of students enrolled in our public and charter high schools by pairing them with caring adult volunteers in enriched mentoring relationships that promote their personal, academic and career development. Our goal is high school graduation for our seniors, followed by enrollment in higher education, which recently has meant a new goal of helping 8th graders transition from middle to high school so that graduation actually becomes an opportunity.
