About Livingston Parish Children's Choirs (Chanson, Inc.

LPCC, founded in 1991, is a community-wide children’s choral program dedicated to teaching basic musicianship skills, including in-tune singing, part singing and music reading, taught through the best choral literature available. Each choir performs in English and foreign languages, taught through Kodály and Orff methodologies by certified music specialists. LPCC includes three treble choirs serving children in K-12th grades. Our choirs rehearse 75-120 minutes per week. Performances include two major concerts each year, a four-day summer choir camp, as well as various community events such as the Denham Springs Christmas Tree lighting. Chorale performs free community concerts in December and May. LPCC hires professional musicians to perform with our choirs. The goal of LPCC is to create life-long lovers, consumers, composers and performers of classical and worthy contemporary music. We want our children to be equipped to perform and to attend performances of all types of music with an educated eye and ear.
