About Australian Children's Laureate Foundation
The Australian Children’s Laureate is an honour awarded to an acclaimed Australian creator of children’s and youth literature who has made a significant contribution to the children’s literature canon of this country.
The Laureate is appointed on a biennial basis by the Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation (ACLF) whose aim, through administering the Laureate Program, is to promote the transformational power that reading, creativity and story can have in the lives of young Australians and therefore the future of our nation.
Over a two-year term each Laureate develops a unique project, based on their own interests and passions, that carries this important message to communities across Australia and Internationally.
