About Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club

As a part of the Mainland Council of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, we are in a unique position to access up-to-date information about our native homeland. Our Members benefit from learning about various aspects about the state of Hawai’i via email, newsletters, and monthly meetings. In addition, we also keep our members abreast of all the various events happening within our Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Community, such as festivals, workshops, family potlucks, volunteer opportunities of our community partners, and political issues as they arise.

Many of our current members, at one time or another, transplanted here to Las Vegas (unofficially the “9th Island”) from one of the Hawaiian Islands. Whether for economic reasons, employment opportunities, or to re-unite with their ‘Ohana, we’ve found that more and more Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders are leaving Hawai’i and making the Las Vegas valley their new home.

Whatever the reason, our club understands the difficulty of moving to a new environment, our club is available to assist in their transition and still support and maintain their culture and family roots.

With the ever changing events happening nationally and globally, we realize the the importance of community support, more so now than ever. As our community continues to grow, the need for support grows. Our club is here for our members and our native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Community as a whole. Reach out to us.

The future of our organization is dependent upon the growth and development of the leadership. Our leaders come from the “life blood” of our club–dedicated Members. We always encourage our Members who wish to volunteer for a leadership position, to advise our board of your intentions, run a project or committee (komike), and go through the nomination process at the end of the year.

Many of you in our community enjoyed our 30th Prince Kuhio Hoolaulea & Pacific Islander Festival that occurred in Henderson, September 9-10, 2022. Our largest fundraiser of our club.

The Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club is a 501 (c) (4) organization, chartered by the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. As a non-profit organization, our primary objective is to practice and perpetuate the traditions, beliefs, language and arts of the indigenous people of Hawai’i. We are proud to have an Education, Hawaiian Literacy Collection and Health initiative platform for our Lahui here in Las Vegas.
