About Our Auction

This is a collaborative group mural by Jessica Poos (f.k.a. Ohare) or JLP Art, followers on her social media, and attendees of Springfield Area Arts Council’s live event, Artist in the Park.

This mural was created to make viewers pause and ponder… to reflect on themselves… and to recognize the unique identities and struggles within BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities and how the topics of mental health, connection and belonging are something we all share and one way we can show we are all united in some way.

Some technical information regarding the mural:

  • The canvas was prepped and painted by Jessica Poos (f.k.a. Ohare) of JLP Art, added on to/continued by Illinois community members, then the final leaves from a poll of followers, friends, and family were added by Jessica.
  • The mural measures 3 foot high by 4 foot wide.
  • The edges are painted for a clean and professional appearance, and the entire front and edges of the canvas are sealed so it stays bright and colorful and remains flawless for years to come.
  • The auction winner may request mounting hardware installed on back upon winning the auction. Mounting options are - wire, sawtooth hangers, or heavy duty command strips.
20% of the proceeds from this sale go directly back to Springfield Area Arts Council.
