Founded by Merle Borenstein and Jill Shufeldt, Have a Heart Animal Welfare Fund is driven by compassion and care.

Our mission includes helping dog owners who are struggling to provide for their pets. We offer assistance such as food, medical care (including vaccinations and heartworm prevention), and access to low-cost spay/neuter services. By supporting pet owners, we help prevent dogs from entering the shelter system.

We also work to reduce the euthanasia of adoptable dogs by covering medical expenses, promoting spay/neuter programs, and enhancing adoption efforts through community outreach and partnerships with other animal welfare organizations.

Community-Focused and Volunteer-Driven

Have a Heart Animal Welfare Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operated entirely by unpaid volunteers. Your tax-deductible contributions help us continue our mission of caring for dogs in our community. Every dollar donated directly supports their well-being.
