About Our Auction
Seven years ago our community was emotionally shaken when two of our Rocky Top Middle School students were struggling with two different, potentially life threatening health issues. Their families were doing everything they could, both physically and financially, to take care of their children. As you can imagine the financial burden was substantial. Staff and students wanted to help in any way possible. Our principal, Chelsea Behanna along with other staff members developed the idea of Grizzlies Give Back Week to raise money for families within our school who were struggling. Our administration decided that we would forgo all fundraisers to raise money for our school, and instead raise money to help our families in need! In turn Grizzlies Give Back was created and has continued to help numerous families. We find ourselves in a similar situation this year, with two more students having potentially life threatening issues, and we are asking for your help.
The first year we were able to raise $5000 for each of the struggling families!!! They were so grateful to our generous community!!! Throughout the last few years, we identified more and more families in need within our community. We now GIVE BACK to our community in so many ways...
Grizzlies Give Back funds sponsor families for the holidays by purchasing gifts for families who cannot afford them. Parents who assumed they would not be able to provide a celebration for their kids are incredibly appreciative of our efforts!
- Grizzlies Give Back funds deliver over 40 Thanksgiving baskets to those who cannot afford to put a warm, fulfilling dinner on the table.
- Grizzlies Give Back funds the purchase of warm coats, shoes and clothes for students in need throughout the school year.
- Grizzlies Give Back funds provide gas cards, grocery gift cards and entertainment gift cards to families in need throughout the school year.
- Grizzlies Give Back funds purchase lunches for kids without funds for food throughout the school year.
