GMNC Fall 2023 Silent Auction

The GMNC is a community-supported, nonprofit organization that has proudly been serving Nordic skiers on Grand Mesa for thirty-plus years.
One of the organization's goals has always been to keep membership fees affordable and accessible allowing anyone to be a part of our Nordic community. This silent auction will supplement membership fees and will support our operations costs and programs, such as ski school programming, community events, and partner events with other area nonprofit organizations.

This year's silent auction features donated items from dozens of area businesses in Mesa and Delta Counties. Our intention is to make this silent auction an annual event that will creatively engage local businesses and foster collaboration with our organization’s efforts and mission.

Supporting cross country skiers and snowshoers since 1990, Grand Mesa Nordic Council (GMNC) is a community-supported, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting fun and safe cross country skiing experiences on Grand Mesa for skiers of all ages and abilities.

GMNC grooms and maintains 50 km (31 miles) of Nordic ski trails on the Skyway, County Line, and Ward trail systems on Grand Mesa near Grand Junction in western Colorado. Grand Mesa is known for its long season and heavy snowfalls, often more than 300 inches per year. GMNC’s trail systems include high quality classic and skate ski trails as well as marked trails for ski touring.

GMNC operates under a special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service, part of the Department of Agriculture, but does not receive any taxpayer funding. GMNC relies entirely on voluntary contributions and grants to fund trail grooming and maintenance operations. GMNC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from our local communities. Numerous additional volunteers are instrumental in creating our vibrant Nordic ski community.

Proceeds raised in this silent auction fundraiser will be used to support our operations and programming that includes community events, partnership programs with other area nonprofit organizations, and our ski school. Our membership fees are kept low and affordable with the intention of allowing anyone to be a part of our community that wishes to join.

The Grand Mesa Nordic Council Live Silent Auction and Kick-Off Party will take place on Saturday, November 4 from 6-9PM at Edgewater Brewing Company located at 905 Struthers Avenue in Grand Junction.

The LIVE silent auction will close at 8PM on Saturday, November 4th. At the close of the auction, the highest bidder will receive an invoice at the email address on their account to be paid before taking their item home. Cash, check, and credit card will be accepted at the live event, but winning bidders are encouraged to pay their invoices on their mobile device. Volunteers will be present with computers to help should anyone need assistance. Once the winning bidder has paid for their item(s), they can simply show their paid receipt on their mobile device to a volunteer and leave with their item.
