Gifted Vikings 2014

Part of our Transforming Lives: Celebrate Vocation Week, the Gifted Vikings auction is designed to showcase the gifts that we all have, and the variety of ways that we use those gifts for the benefit of others.

At the same time that the auction is a showcase for our gifts, it is also an opportunity to raise funds for a 2015 mission trip, during which students will be able to share their gifts with others. Students will travel to Ghana for fourteen days in May 2015 conducting medical outreach to rural Ghana villages, visiting Ghanaian hospitals and interacting with medical staff, serving in feeding centers found in rural Ghana, helping at a 147 acre farm which grows maize, beans, vegetables and citrus and palm oil trees. Students will have the opportunity to interact in elementary and junior high schools, visit various rural and regional churches, and visit the University of Ghana and meet with students and faculty. The students will also have the opportunity to interact with the Ghana Parliament and possibly meet with the President of Ghana and other government officials.

NOTE regarding shipping costs: The primary intent is that all goods and services purchased in the auction will be delivered on or near the Grand View campus. We are making provision, though, and you will see shipping costs listed for items that are shippable and purchased from a distance. If you buy an item that will be delivered on or near campus, you can disregard the shipping cost that is listed with some of the items. If the shipping cost is listed as zero, that means the item is not shippable.
