Genre Creators for Trans Rights in the UK and SA

Hi, we’re Lauren Beukes and Jeannette Ng. We met at Eastercon 2025 and it is with their help that we have organised this the Genre for Trans Rights charity auction featuring various author and creator friends across genre and fandom.

This began as a small personal response to the devastating and dehumanising UK Supreme Court ruling, where we both live, and also the withdrawal of vital international aid in the last few months that is affecting trans organizations in South Africa (where Lauren Beukes hails from).

The money we raise in this auction will be going to Gendered Intelligence, a trans-led trans-involving charity in the UK and the brilliant trans NPO, Gender DynamiX in South Africa. Please do also feel free to donate to them direct here and here.

It raised £20000 which was split between The Good Law Project’s campaign for trans rights in the UK and the Triangle Project that supports gay, trans, non-binary and intersex people in South Africa. We are aware that this site is geolocked such that South Africans cannot access it without a VPN. The decision to host this auction here was made somewhat in haste in the middle of a convention and we were not aware of this at the time.
