Rally for Freddie

On the 20th of November 2025, Freddie was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the young age of 6. Just 48 hours earlier, life looked completely normal for this family! With very mild symptoms prior to diagnosis Fred soon went downhill and this family's life was turned up-side down by relocating to Melbourne for 9 months of intensive treatment, followed by another eighteen months of maintenance treatment.
Today Freddie is nearing the end of his intensive treatment and will move onto maintenance treatment which will allow Freddie to move back to the farm. Although Freddie has an excellent prognosis, and we’re all incredibly grateful for that, it’s important to remember that a good prognosis doesn’t mean an easy journey. 
Over these last months he has faced many different chemotherapies and medications, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, blood and platelet transfusions, surgery, emergency department visits and hospital stays. Freddie even had a recent stay in PICU due to treatment side effects.
Freddie has missed out on so many of the simple things that come with just being a six-year-old little boy, yet through it all, Fred has rarely complained.
Cancer doesn’t just happen to one person. It happens to an entire family. This beautiful family has been separated for days or weeks because Freddie has needed to be in Melbourne for his treatment. 
We hope everyone reads this with a greater understanding that when cancer enters one person’s life, it affects everyone in their family! You’re not just helping Freddie. You’re helping Jess, Jarryd, Mackzenie, Charlie, Tommy and their whole family rebuild their lives.
We all can’t wait for the day Freddie is back home on the farm where he belongs, and for the Parry and Stead family to be all be under the same roof, happy and healthy.
