Hello I'm Brittany, the mother of 2 lovely and wild young children. I'm their primary caregiver and the homemaker for our family.
Before becoming a Mom, I worked in childcare with experience creating social stories and visuals for families that had children with disabilities. I loved working with kids and dreamed of one day becoming a Mom and having a family of my own.
In 2021 my dream came true and I had my first child and everything changed dramatically for me. I started to suffer from chronic pain that prevented me from sleeping. This was explored medically and then disregarded, as nothing was showing up on imaging or tests. I went back to care for my family but was unable to care for myself. Years went by and I began experiencing new symptoms that were debilitating: painful bowel movements and pain with intimacy. These issues evolved and started to effect me daily: driving hurt, walking hurt, sleeping was impossible and then it came to a point when I could no longer keep up with my children. This resulted in me having to put my youngest in daycare. The mother I thought I was going to be began to disappear because of my chronic pain. It broke my heart to have my children witnessing this disease progress.
In April of this year I had an internal ultrasound and the next day I hemorrhaged. That was when I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis and a fibroid (they suspect I also have endometriosis too because of where I am experiencing pain) They referred me to a gynecologist with a 2 to 5 year wait for just a consultation. Adenomyosis and Endometriosis are progressive diseases and only get worse with time.
My quality of life is deteriorating which forced me to look at other medical options abroad. This is how I found The Bucharest Endometriosis Centre in Romania, a place where many women across the world go for quality care, and fast treatment. They are experts in mapping Endometriosis, excision of lesions and Adenomyosis treatment (hysterectomy).
They have a team of specialists that are available to assist if any other organs are affected and can help reconstruct them. I have been in touch with the surgeon and they have space for me in October to receive these life changing procedures.
All of the costs are coming out of pocket and I am asking for help covering these expenses. With hopes of living a life without chronic pain and to once again be the Mom my children need.
