2021 Fall Harvest of Hope

Join us for this year's Fall Harvest of Hope, the Port Ministries' annual celebration and fundraiser on November 7th!

This year’s event will be a virtual event. Guests may join us virtually through a live stream and celebrate the work and fundraise to ensure our programs and services continue to stay free for anyone who may require our help.

The Port Ministries is a Franciscan inspired organization that provides the fundamental needs of the mind, body, and spirit. We do this by offering eight free programs and services that holistically work together to serve the under-resourced and under-served residents of our south side Chicago communities.

The Fall Harvest of Hope is The Port's only annual fundraiser and raises 33% of our general operating budget. It is only because of donations from caring individuals like yourself that we are able to help others.

Please consider making a donation, participating in our Online Auction, buying raffle tickets, donating support wishlist items, or sponsoring our event.

About The Port Ministries

Inspired by St. Francis and the Franciscan Charism, the Port Ministries mission is to provide the fundamental needs of the mind, body, and spirit. The organization addresses these needs through a series of programs and services that holistically work together to serve the under-resourced and under-served residents of the local communities (Back of the Yards, Englewood, Gage Park).

No one envisioned the rich network of ministries that would develop when Father Augustin Milon, OFM, founded a one-room soup kitchen in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood on May 26, 1985. In a neighborhood stricken by violence, homelessness, drug abuse, gang activity and abandoned buildings, Port Ministries has listened and responded to the pressing needs of the local community with a Catholic spirit of loving outreach.

Our goal is to put faith-in-action to address the underlining issues that plague and limit the potential of these under-resourced and under-serviced communities and their residents
