Esperanza has provided domestic violence services in SF County since 1976. We are the only domestic abuse agency in our county. Our mission is to shelter those threatened by domestic violence and to support healthy relationships.

The need to support our services to continue our legacy is more critical than ever, as participants continue suffering deeply with the aftermath of the pandemic. Many are continuing to experience feelings of isolation, employment challenges, barriers to receiving federal assistance, shortage of housing options, anxiety, and depression. Youth report increased bullying at school, anxiety, and depression. These high-risk victims have complex needs and require longer than average emergency shelter stays.
