Bid Now on Unique Arts, Goods, and Services
We are excited to announce that the online store for Escuela Caracol, Guatemala's first Waldorf school is going on until September 1, 2017! For those of you unfamiliar, Escuela Caracol teaches Mayan language Kaqchikel and includes Mayan ceremony in its curriculum.
Indigenous right to culture and representation are core aspects of Escuela Caracol. With 80 % of students indigenous Guatemalans who attend on funded support, we are proud that all students receive food daily. This silent auction is a new approach to fund our meal program. Our goal is to raise $3000 to cover the cost of food for our students for the remainder of 2017. Money raised above goal would go towards the salaries of our kitchen and teaching staff. Until September 1. Be part of our community, bid on your favorite items, and please spread the word!

To learn more about Escuela Caracol, consider the 2014 documentary by Jose Arteaga, a documentarian from Mexico, and Karla Olmedo, former teacher; they filmed the 15 minute documentary with active participation from school staff and families : www.escuelacaracol.org/documentary/
About Escuela Caracol
Escuela Caracol is Guatemala's oldest and only non-profit Waldorf school. Located in San Marcos la Laguna, Guatemala, it is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. Please join us in celebrating by shopping your favorite auction items in our online store. Caracol's mission is to fund tuition for all students who are indigenous Guatemalans, which is 80% or 72 of 90 students this year. Our goal is to raise $3000. Bid between July 31-September 1 and be part of our community.
This is a personal initiative by the school's Fundraising and Communications Manager, Jesse Leaneagh. For the sake of transparency, winning bidders can receive proof of receipt by the school of funds raised through this auction.
