About Our Auction
Elevate the Arts is a fundraiser to support the incredible arts in our community of Penticton. A number of groups have been invited to add items to the auction to raise funds to support their operations. The auction started with a need to fundraise for the Dream Cafe, which had to close its doors in September due to financial challenges. Many of the items you might recognize as part of the Dream Cafe ambience. There is a hope that the Dream will re-emerge as a non-profit charitable society. This fundraiser will help make that Dream a reality by supporting the old Dream to close off in a good way.
The auction items can be bid online starting Monday, November 3 and then all items will move to a silent and live auction at the Elks Hall on Friday, December 5th with a dinner, Bingo and other fun merriment. Supporting this event will Elevate the Arts, both figuratively and literally, as funds raised through the dinner and drink sales will go to support the good work that the Elks do in our community including the plan to install an elevator that will make their top floor, with its beautiful sprung dance floor, accessible to everyone.
All arts groups in Penticton are welcome to add items to the online auction to make this a fundraiser for the whole community in what organizers hope to make into an annual event to celebrate and elevate the arts in our beautiful snpintktn (Penticton) on the unceded ancestral territory of the syilx (Okanagan) Peoples.
More items to be added, keep checking back. And if you have an item you want to donate please reach out!
Your support is very much appreciated!
