About Our Auction

The focus of this online auction is to help grow our most sought-after education program, our Family-To-Family course. This is a free course consisting of 12-weeks of education and support classes for families whom have a loved one with a serious mental illness (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder). This course is currently offered in Vancouver, North Vanvouver, Coquitlam and Squamish. By participating in our auction, you will be donating to Pathways while bidding on some amazing local products and experiences. Your bids will support our goal of training more course teachers through the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This training will enable Pathways to grow the roster of people whom are qualified to teach our Family-to-Family course so that we can meet demands and offer more courses.

About Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society

Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society is all about Families helping other Families. Pathways is a pioneering family-support organization, providing help for those who have relatives with mental illness. We offer support groups, one-on-one support, information, education through classes and free lectures, awareness, and advocacy.

We cover all serious mental illnesses – schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders (including obsessive-compulsive disorder, and borderline personality disorder. We serve the North Shore (North and West Vancouver), Bowen Island, and the Sea to Sky Corridor (Lions Bay, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton), and also handle calls from further afield and provide help as best we can.

Our programs are open to people living beyond our primary geographic area, if at all practical. Many participants in our Family-to-Family education course, for example, come from elsewhere in the Lower Mainland. And no matter where a family member is located – another province or another country – if their loved one is in our geographic area, we will assist them.

Our main centre of operation is the Family Support Centre, located in Ambleside in West Vancouver. Pathways is incorporated under the BC Societies Act and is a registered charity. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering caused by schizophrenia and other serious mental illness.
