Crafty Arts for Crisis Accommodation

LESS THAN 24 HOURS TO MAKE A BID ON OUR VERY WELL PRICED ITEMS. BE IN AND WIN !

We are delighted to offer you a selection of creative art items ranging from beautiful photographic prints by Brian Harmer, a well known New Zealand photographer who loves to photograph nature and scenery, as well as fabric and wool creations by local artisans and crafters, woodcraft items from our local community crafters and contemporary jewellery by Joyce Davies. Joyce is an established jewellery artist whose work has been shown in galleries in Queensland.

All funds raised here are dedicated to providing crisis accommodation for women and children who need to leave their homes for their immediate safety. We are supporting a project, managed by the Caboolture Ministers' Network and operated by the Caboolture Community Action Group to provide a short term subsidised rental property for six – eight weeks to women and their children. During this time the women will be assisted and mentored to access health, legal and work services and to find long term accommodation in the Caboolture area.

The goal is for the Project Management to find and lease three different types of properties, meeting the varied circumstances of women in need. Sufficient funding has been raised for the first house which is expected to be available very soon. The project will be expanded in line with available funding.

[Please note that we are a Service Club and not a registered charity so we are unable to give a tax receipt for donations made via the green DONATE button.]

About Zonta Club of Caboolture Inc

Our club of twenty one women and one man is part of Zonta International, a service club dedicated for the past one hundred and two years to achieving human rights for women globally.

For the past twenty eight years Zonta Caboolture members have been providing service and advocacy for women in our community by giving tangible support to recognised service providers who assist women and children experiencing family and domestic violence and homelessness. We also fund educational awards in all local high schools, other educational awards, respectful relationship programs as well as many other health and wellbeing initiatives.

The funds raised with this auction will provide emergency housing for mainly women and children in need of immediate removal from their homes for fear of physical violence. Your participation in this auction will save lives.
