2022 Gala Auction at Craft Contemporary

Welcome to the Craft Contemporary Silent Auction where everyone is invited to bid! Held in conjunction with our annual Gala, you will find artwork and fun local experiences. The artwork has been generously donated by craft-inspired artists based in Los Angeles and represents Craft Contemporary's mission to reveal the potential of craft. Proceeds from the silent auction provide essential funds for Craft Contemporary's 2023 exhibitions and educational programs including our annual Clay Biennial, our teen after-school program, and our many opportunities to learn from the most creative makers around.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE: Online bidding ends at 11AM PST on October 14. The Silent Auction will resume for IN-PERSON BIDDING ONLY during the Gala event on October 15 from 6 – 8PM PST. Bidding will conclude at 8PM PST. If you're unable to attend the event and want to keep bidding, contact Suzanne Isken at suzanne@craftcontemporary.org to arrange a proxy for your maximum bid level.

Craft Contemporary is a non-collecting museum for contemporary art made from craft materials and processes. Our mission is to reveal the potential of craft to educate, captivate, provoke, and empower. In addition to presenting six exhibitions annually, the museum offers 90+ art-making workshops and public programs each year. We present work by emerging and established artists who take traditional craft techniques in new and surprising directions; prioritize the presentation of work by culturally diverse and underrecognized artists, foster collaboration between artists and the public; engage audiences with hands-on experiences, and utilize our public spaces to provide the greatest opportunity for the experience of art.

The Craft Contemporary Gala recognizes and celebrates artists and supporters of craft who have made a substantial contribution to the museum and the crafting community in Los Angeles and beyond. A festive cocktail event featuring delicious food, open bar, live DJ music, and spirited conversation with many of LA’s contemporary crafters and makers, all proceeds from the gala directly support Craft Contemporary’s exhibition program highlighting emerging and underrecognized artists, as well as the museum’s unique public programs which specialize in hands-on experiences that deepen our relationship to art, each other, and ourselves.
