Help fund priority medical equipment for Cobequid!

Dear Neighbour,

We all rely on the Cobequid Community Health Centre, often when it matters most.

Throughout the month of May join us in celebrating all that Cobequid Community Health Centre means for our community by making a donation and/or participating in our online auction.

Your participation makes a real difference. By bidding in this auction, you are helping ensure our doctors and care teams have the tools they need to provide the best possible care.

Each year, your generosity helps strengthen patient care right here in our community by funding 97% of the new and replacement medical equipment needed.

Together, we can make sure everyone in our community — from children to seniors — continues to have access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare.

Together, we’re raising funds for priority equipment in our Diagnostic Imaging (x-ray) and Emergency Departments, and also in our Respiratory Clinic — including a pulmonary function testing booth, a mobile digital x-ray unit, and a transvaginal ultrasound.

Join me and make an impact; give today.

Thank you!

About Cobequid Health Centre Foundation

About the Cobequid Community Health Centre

The Cobequid Community Health Centre (CCHC) is at the heart of your community, providing essential healthcare for you, your family, and your neighbours. From emergency care and chronic disease management to routine testing, CCHC serves every generation — children, parents, and grandparents alike.

Located in Lower Sackville, the Centre supports the growing communities of Bedford, Sackville, Waverley, Lucasville, Windsor, Fall River, Hammonds Plains, Mount Uniacke, and surrounding areas.

Why We Fundraise

Every day, the Cobequid Foundation works to ensure our healthcare team has the critical equipment they need to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. Through your generous support, we’re able to meet rising demands and invest in the future of local healthcare.

Our History

In 1976, two community champions, Shirley Freer and Carol Crosby, saw a need — and acted. Their vision, backed by a passionate group of volunteers, led to the opening of the Cobequid Emergency Department in 1987, the only standalone ER in Canada at the time.

As the region grew, so did the need for expanded care. With incredible community support, $4 million was raised to build a new facility, which opened its doors in 2006.

By 2016, emergency visits had more than doubled from the original plan — over 65,000 patients last year alone. That growth sparked the launch of our Emergency Triage Project, expanding triage and registration space, infection control, and equipment to meet today’s demands.

Your Support Matters

Today, the Cobequid Community Health Centre continues to provide vital health and social services thanks to the generosity of supporters like you. Every dollar raised through this auction helps us invest in better care for our entire community.
