About Our Auction
Lost in Paradise:
We live in an unbelievable area of the country. Missoula is a gem and is often characterized as a top 50 place to live in the USA. From best place to raise kids, to best place to eat and maybe on top of the entire list is best place to recreate. In fact many times after hearing someone say where they are from followed with “it’s God’s country”, I’ll respond with “I’m from Montana, where God vacations!”
We live in paradise! However, underneath this appearance of paradise lies a culture of teens that is lost. Though we live in paradise, our statistics for underage alcohol and drug use, suicide and childhood trauma rank us in the top 4 worst places in the USA. We live in a culture of social media connection and great wealth yet a culture saturated with loneliness and poverty of Spirit.
Our theme this year reflects this concept, Missoula has many teens lost in our culture. YFC looks to meet their physical, mental and emotional needs through the lens of God’s word, helping them to realize that they were created uniquely by a loving God for a purpose.
"Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." -Matthew 25:34-36
This verse exemplifies the heart of the ministry of Youth For Christ to teens. We feed, clothe, scholarship, disciple, visit them in jail and weekly invite them into connection with a loving staff that points them to Jesus.
Thank you for participating in this year's event! Your contribution helps transform stories from lost to found.
