Celebration of Children in Nature Awards

On September 16, 2016, Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center will host its 9th annual Celebration of Children in Nature to honor individuals and organizations focused on getting our local children out into nature. Carter Smith, Executive Director of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Westcave will announce four award winners chosen for their exemplary work in connecting children to nature. The proceeds from the Celebration of Children in Nature awards dinner support the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin (CiNCA), a core program of the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center.

Founded in 1976 as Westcave Preserve, the mission of Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center is to inspire people to develop a lifelong practice of enjoying and protecting nature.
We accomplish this through educational programs, collaborative alliances, and conservation of our beautiful 75-acre preserve.
