About Our Auction

There’s no doubt, it’s been a tough year for some at-risk children but CASA Monroe has been working hard for their safety and security. CASA (which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates) is an organization of trained volunteers who speak up on behalf of children who have not been properly taken care of and who find themselves in court because of their parents’ or guardians’ drug abuse, anger issues, and physical or sexual abuse.

Part of our ability to march forward is due to the 62 trained CASA volunteer advocates who have impacted the lives of more than 175 children in crisis this year. Our small but dynamic staff has trained, organized and supported them in doing their jobs. But here is our latest challenge.

Each year, we fund CASA Monroe’s $240,000 annual budget with grants, contributions and fundraisers. Because of COVID 19, our most lucrative fundraising event – the annual GALA Dinner and Auction - has been cancelled, leaving a large gap in our income. In light of that, we are asking for your help. We have decided to raise part of our income through this online auction.

Our success is directly connected to the safety of each child we serve. We have come so far and we can’t lose even one of these children. Please consider your purchase of one of these wonderful items your way of giving back to our community. The reward is mighty – the well-being of our children. Thank you.

About CASA Monroe

CASA Monroe’s mission is to promote and support court-appointed volunteer advocacy to represent the best interests of children who find themselves in the court system because of abuse or neglect, etc. We accomplish this by training volunteers to become the advocates for these children. The volunteers then oversee and ensure the safety of the children and speak in their best interest during the period that their case is in court.

The purpose of CASA is to help children who do not understand their situation and cannot speak on their own behalf by representing their best interests to the court. In this sense, CASA Monroe serves as the eyes and ears for the Juvenile Court judge who uses our reports to determine the next steps in the child’s future. CASA Monroe provides all of these services at no cost to the children and their families or to the court system.
