CalSAC 35th Anniversary Board Member Auction

In 1982…everyone was doing the robot, Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” was at the top of the charts, acid wash jeans were all the rage…and a few dedicated individuals were around a kitchen table forming CalSAC, because they believed that we could do better for our children and youth.

Today - 35 years later, we still believe that young people need and deserve more. That’s why CalSAC is building a more equitable future for California’s children and families where:

Every child in California — regardless of income, race, or zip code — has access to high quality, affordable out-of-school time programs (like before school, afterschool and summer learning).

Every professional in the field has the resources they need and is valued for the important impact they have on the lives of children.

In 2017, we may wear different clothes and listen to different music, yet CalSAC’s unique spirit continues, where people are at the center of our work and youth are at the heart of our actions.

CalSAC is building a future where every child in California — regardless of income, race, or zip code — has access to high quality, affordable out-of-school time programs (such as before school, afterschool and summer learning). We work across the large and diverse state of California to develop an out-of-school time workforce that is filled with strong mentors and highly skilled practitioners who reflect their communities.

Through collaboration and innovation, CalSAC's network creates ripple effects of opportunity, equity and transformation throughout California, both for professionals and the young people they serve.
