At Community Action Agency of New Haven (CAANH), we are deeply committed to the betterment of the Greater New Haven. The non-profit agency provides services in the following towns: East Haven, Hamden, New Haven, North Haven, and West Haven. Our mission is to offer pathways of prosperity to those in poverty through service, collaboration, knowledge generation, and advocacy.

We guarantee an integrated system of programs and services for low income families and individuals that respect the human spirit and dignity, strengthen partnerships and maximize available resources within CAANH's catchment area. This is made possible through the development of policies and practices, community involvement and advocacy.

CAANH services under served populations through case management, energy assistance, homelessness support, single mother services, and even emergency food and diaper banks.

"Every one of us in CAANH – from the Board of Directors to our staff and volunteers – know how it is to struggle with debt, family issues, sickness, and other life challenges that threaten to cripple us. We also know how to turn lives around – with information, collaboration, hard work, a clear vision, and a lot of heart…”
