About Our Auction

This October 20th marks the Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro's 15th annual Buddy Walk. This spirited one-mile walk celebrates individuals with Down syndrome and includes fun festivities with delicious refreshments, live entertainment, game, bounce houses and more.

Last year our online auction raised over $3,425! The money was used to provide a variety of programs for our families and the community such as:

- Welcome bags for new parents in local hospitals
- Events including Moms’ Night Outs, Dads' Night Outs, a Parents' Date Night, a New Moms’ Brunch, as well as several Family Free Events
- Summer Music Enrichment Program for individuals with Ds
- Scholarships for camps
- Reimbursement for parents to attend conferences
- Speakers and workshops ranging from education to finances for parents, teachers, therapists and community members
- A Lending Library full of books and videos

Our goal this year is to raise $4,500 so that we can continue to serve and support the families within our community while raising awareness for and promoting the inclusion of people with Down syndrome. With your help and generosity we know this is possible.

The Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro is committed to enriching the lives of local individuals with Down syndrome by connecting with new families, providing social and educational opportunities for our members, and promoting awareness and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in our community.

About Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro

The Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro is committed to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome by connecting with new families, providing social and educational opportunities for our members, and promoting awareness and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in our community.

DSNGG is a volunteer-run organization and uses Buddy Walk funds to provide new and expectant family resources and support, family events throughout the year, and therapeutic, recreational and vocational opportunities, along with other services at our center, The STAR (Supported Therapies and Recreation). We also provide scholarships for kids to attend camps and extra therapies, and for parents to attend conferences and continuing education classes, while helping our families to engage in local, state, and national advocacy in conjunction with the National Down Syndrome Society and in collaboration with statewide Down syndrome networks and coalitions.
