About Our Auction

2022 has been a year of extraordinary challenges for the sanctuary especially in our endeavor to provide equitable veterinary care to all animals. We have had a great deal of success in providing our residents with life-saving medical care and working with veterinarians from both large animal, small animal, and exotic animal services to offer innovative treatments and care. Our medical savings however, has been severely depleted and the funds from this auction will help replenish funds and provide essential care (both routine daily care and emergency medical services) to animals in need!

Thank you for supporting our animal care, education, and advocacy efforts this holiday season and always. We could not do this important work without you.

About Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary

Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2014 to provide rescue, rehabilitation and advocacy on behalf of farm animals while simultaneously promoting a cruelty-free lifestyle and ecological stewardship. We strive to create a kinder, more sustainable, more compassionate world by raising awareness and effecting positive change to the lives of animals who are exploited by the food, textile, entertainment, and pharmaceutical industries.

Our work on behalf of non-human animals is essential, especially because we provide rescue services, rehabilitation, foster care, and permanent, lifelong sanctuary for species such as pigs, ducks, llamas, cows, turkeys, and others who are not accepted by traditional companion animal shelters. According to Animal Charity Evaluators, farmed animals account for 99.6% of animals harmed by humans in the United States, yet only 0.8% of donations to animal charities go to farmed animal organizations.

The mission of Blackberry Creek has evolved over the years as we have endeavored to make a bigger impact on animal welfare beyond just the 80+ animals in our care. Besides offering a refuge for animals to peacefully live out their natural lives, we have expanded our focus to provide more diverse opportunities for education such as our collaborative LEAP (Leaders for Ethics, Animals, and the Planet) youth program. We emphasize connection to and respect of the natural world and the idea that lifestyle choices such as volunteerism, environmental stewardship, and adoption of a plant-based diet can positively impact animal welfare, human physical and mental health, and climate change.
