Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Canada, yet research in this area remains underfunded. This disease can affect anyone, and raising awareness and funding is crucial to progress.

As a supporter, you know that Bev is dedicated to raising awareness for lung cancer. Her efforts focus not only on early detection and treatment but also on highlighting the importance of clinical research in improving patient outcomes.

Sunnybrook is a leader in developing precise diagnostic tests for lung cancer and other cancers, but we need your help to expand testing access and capabilities. Over the past five years, Bev’s fundraising efforts have significantly advanced Sunnybrook’s lung cancer education, research, and patient care.

Since 2020, Bev has raised over $700,000 for Sunnybrook’s cancer programs! This year, the funds raised through Crush it with Bev will support three critical areas:

1. Support Training and Education: Sunnybrook is dedicated to attracting top cancer care specialists globally. Your donations will fund specialized education and training for fellows, to support doctors in advancing lung cancer care while preparing the next generation of experts. This investment ensures they have the skills to drive future advancements in lung cancer treatment.

2. Focus on Innovative Research: With your support, Sunnybrook can advance liquid biopsy testing— a groundbreaking, less invasive tool for diagnosing lung cancer. This research will explore new protocols and test future applications for enhancing treatment precision and ultimately help doctors deliver more targeted therapies and improve patient outcomes.

3. Increase Access to Care: Access to liquid biopsy improves early detection and personalized treatment for patients. Expanding the program will allow for validation and early experiences while learning from other sectors. Continuous allocated resources will ensure improved patient care.
