Auction for Apes

All proceeds from Auction for Apes will be donated to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS).  BOS works with local communities, the Indonesian government, and the greater global community, to ensure the existence and the conservation of orangutans and their habitats in sites all across Borneo – specifically in the Indonesian provinces of Central and East Kalimantan. BOS is running the largest ape conservation program in the world on the island of Borneo. There are 465,225 hectares of rainforest under their care.

Ape Conservation Effort Inc. (ACE) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose members are committed to saving the great apes (gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos) in the wild. Founded in 2006 by keepers and volunteers from Zoo Atlanta, ACE has grown to a network of members across multiple states. The organization has raised over $315,000 for internationally recognized organizations that work in the animals’ homelands of Africa and Indonesia to help save these apes from extinction and conserve their natural habitats.

All great ape species are endangered or critically endangered and scientists predict that several species of apes will likely be extinct in the wild in the future.  Our members are committed to saving these great apes and working to increase awareness about their plight and raise funds to help in their conservation.  To learn more about ACE and its work, visit our website at www.apeconservationeffort.org
