About Our Auction

With 100 items to bid on, the 2021 Holiday Auction for Alzheimer's brings a variety of local products and experiences! Items in this auction have been supported by a variety of sponsors and donors, ensuring our ability to support local as much as possible.

All funds will stay local in the Timmins district to provide valuable programs and services to individuals and families living with dementia.

Over 4200 individuals received education regarding dementia

While Canadians are living longer and healthier lives, dementia is growing equally fast. Today, more than half a million Canadians are living with dementia, with over 4000 living in our service area. In less than 15 years, that number is expected to double.

Help us reach those families.

Each year the Alzheimer Society hosts several fundraising events to support the operation of our programs and services, offered to our clients at no cost. Due to Covid-19 we have had to cancel the majority of our fundraising events that contribute to over 35% of our operating budget. This auction will help offset the costs associated with delivering support to our local communities.

Caregiver Support was provided to over 550 families with over 2500 visits

130 groups were hosted

About Alzheimer Society

The Alzheimer Society of Timmins – Porcupine District Inc. is a non-profit organization that seeks to lessen the burden on caregivers of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as well as provides education to the community.

Our services provide individuals, families, care partners, students and health service professionals with information to better manage the journey of dementia and to provide better care. Our programs for people living with dementia encourage an active and social lifestyle, improve quality of life and increase confidence while also providing mutual support for the care partner.

The society has been in operation for thirty years due to the generous contributions from local businesses, corporations and generous citizens.
