About Our Auction

To get a real sense of why I started #nonprofitart, watch the video. But, let me share a story. As an artist, I have been asked to give over the years, and I have given a lot. All artists I know have. One year, I was asked to give to a local organization and it hit me the wrong way. I looked at their operation and the building they wanted art for that included a roofer, who got paid. They hired an electrician, who got paid. They also hired a plumber, who got paid … ok you get the picture. But for the artist, I offered several options and they only wanted art we were willing to give away for free.

The opposite of that was an event where we were asked to bring art for a great cause. If it sold, 33% went to the non-profit, 33% went to the artist, and 33% went to the organizer of the event. That spoke to me. Everybody should benefit because we all have value. That played on my mind for years.

PLDeere Studios, Non-Profit Art, is a movement that allows an artist to always say “Yes”, when asked to donate because we can do it in a way that will benefit all involved. Each event is different and anywhere from 10%-80% is donated to the non-profit we are working with. This means, the donated art is more valuable to begin with and not just a piece in an artists basement waiting to get found. That value, means the bidding is higher when people know they are purchasing valuable art at a reasonable price that benefits their favorite charity. The mentality of getting the cheapest prices at auction changes to getting really great value on wonderful items.

For this auction, 10% of all sales will be donated to the Chelsea Rotary in Michigan. This is not necessarily a fundraiser for them, but a way I can support artists and give back to my community in every sale I make through my business. Purchasing art on this site allows you to get great art, support local artists (they get paid 80% of the sale), and donate to a good cause (10% donated to non-profits listed), all at the same time. It doesn’t get any better than that!

All artists I know have way more art produced than they are able to sell. Maybe they are not active any more and don’t have a venue to sell their art. Events have been cancelled due to Covid so they may have an abundance of art they need to sell. Artists need help too! Maybe, they are like me, and their style has changed keeping them from putting certain pieces on their web site.

Here is where you will find one of a kind works of art, that when sold, also benefit a non-profit. Some pieces have sale prices and some are just priced great to start with! To keep up on future sales like this, send me a message so you can be added to an email list of future events.
