On December 9, 2014, Chloë Rombach, 22, was hit by a car while in Bridge Street crosswalk in Northampton, where she had been living and completing her teacher training at Karuna Center for Yoga & Healing Arts. She was dragged approximately 150 feet and remained trapped under the car that struck her for about 20 minutes. Rombach suffered severe brain injuries and burn wounds; she has undergone several surgeries already, but her road to recovery is long. The accident has caused an overwhelming financial burden on the Rombach family, and consistent efforts to help are needed as Chloë will need long term care.
Art4Chloe is a creative fundraiser. It is an online auction of donated artwork of all kinds (paintings, prints, photos, drawings, handmade jewelry, books, vases, cups). So far, we have collected items from over 100 artists from all over the United States. Our collection includes some amazing work, including a collaboration between Sean Gerstley and Katie Stout (K. Stout is the recent winner of the Ellen DeGenres Design Challenge), members of Tiger Strikes Asteroid gallery, and current students and alumni from reputable Fine Art graduate schools such as Cranbrook, Yale, RISD, Hunter, Rutgers, and UPenn. All proceeds from the sales of these items will go to The Rombach Family Recovery Fund.
To donate, please send an image of the work with title, dimensions and media to firstname.lastname@example.org.
*~*~NEW ITEMS WILL BE POSTED REGULARLY, SO VISIT OFTEN! Check out the gallery of works-to-be-auctioned-off at www.instagram.com/art4chloe
We asked each artist for their "1,2,3." If you see this, what it means is:
1. The artist's short bio
2. Info about the artist's work/artist website
3. Relationship to the Rombach family and/or connection to participation in this auction
