About Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. The Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society (MPFCS) is, at its heart, the village people envision when they say, "It takes a village to raise a child."

Established as a nonprofit society in 1976, MPFCS was born from the needs of local mothers in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. They sought a safe, welcoming, child-friendly space where they could come together for mutual support, connection, and resources to help navigate the challenges of parenting. Over the years, we've grown to become a cornerstone for families in our community, offering programs and services that enrich lives and build meaningful connections.

In 2024, we were proud to welcome over 1,200 families into our programs. These include:
- Family Drop-in: A safe space where parents, caregivers, and children come together for play, connection, and learning
- Baby Drop-in: Dedicated support for new parents navigating the early months of their parenting journey
- Dad's Drop-in: A unique weekly program creating a space for fathers to engage with their children and build connections with other dads in the community
- Special Events: Celebrations and gatherings designed to bring the community together, foster inclusion, and create lasting memories.

At MPFCS we believe in strengthening families by fostering a sense of belonging, mutual support, and shared growth. We recognize that strong families create strong communities, and every program we offer is a step toward building a more connected, resilient neighbourhood.

Our work continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of the families we serve, and we are grateful for the support of our partners, donors, and community members who make it all possible.
