About Our Auction

Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park has been holding our Annual Gift Auction for over 40 years. It is the largest fundraising event of the year and every dollar of the proceeds goes directly toward the care of our hundreds of animals at our three animal care facilities, and our Popcorn Park Animal Refuge. Due to the 2020 pandemic, we are holding our Auction online this year for the first time ever! We are scaling it back greatly, and plan to hold our huge event in 2021 with over 350 gifts and 700+ attendees. In the meantime, please join us for our Online Auction where we have 100 awesome gifts, all generously donated by our wonderful supporters and local businesses, that range in value from $20 to $250.00.

About Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, The Associated Humane Societies is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We operate three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly -- farm animals, birds, and wildlife (domestic and exotic). The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization. In addition Popcorn Park is a federally licensed zoo. We take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
The mission of the Associated Humane Societies, Inc., including Popcorn Park Zoo, is to consistently provide the highest quality of care to all animals, domestic and wildlife, including their rescue, housing, veterinary care, placement whenever possible, and when required, a peaceful end. It is also our mission to prevent cruelty to all animals, primarily in New Jersey, but also throughout the United States. This shall be done through direct intervention as well as the promotion of humane education regarding the proper care and treatment of animals at both public and private levels, thereby advancing the humane treatment of animals everywhere.
