Accessible Antigonish - Challenger Baseball

Antigonish Challenger Baseball has developed an on-going partnership with the Town of Antigonish to make areas, where sport and recreation occur in the community, more accessible. We will be working with the community to develop a list of desired accessibility enhancements that will be completed in the years to come. Each year, a new project on the list will be undertaken with the support of community fundraising.

To raise funds for this initiative, Antigonish Challenger Baseball will be holding an online silent auction.

Many of the children involved in our program have mild to severe mobility issues and require wheelchairs, walkers and/or prosthetics. Our program has become increasingly aware of the need to not only improve accessibility at our field complex but also in the community.

Our collaboration with the Town of Antigonish ensures that these projects and community enhancements are driven by those with accessibility needs. The first-voice perspective on projects like these is vital in how our play spaces are adjusted to be accessible for children, youth, adults and elderly with varying cognitive, sensory and/or physical disabilities.
