All proceeds from this annual fundraiser support the organization's robust financial aid program. During the 2018-2019 season, the VYOA has awarded $40,000 in need-based scholarships so that all interested students can experience the joy of playing in an orchestra.

Our love of music inspires us to welcome all families regardless of their economic circumstances, and your bids show that you share these same values. You'll notice there are opportunities to "fund-a-need" by sponsoring specific VYOA programs as well as a donate button. Now celebrating our 60th season, the VYOA is a leader in shaping our region’s young musicians. Nearly 300 musicians in grades 1 – 12 represent 66 elementary, middle, and high schools, and hail from 39 towns from across Vermont and neighboring states. In addition to two symphony orchestras, one string orchestra, jazz program, and training programs for middle school musicians, the VYOA provides instrumental instruction through its Lesson Program and afterschool program, Music Inspires. Our Rug Concert series and Music Together classes provide an opportunity for families with very young children to foster their love of music together.

All programs are based at the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College. The Elley-Long Music Center is the former Cavalry Riding or Drill Hall located at Fort Ethan Allen and was renovated by the VYOA between 1999 and 2001. This beautiful building is the home of the VYOA and the primary rehearsal and concert venue for many performing arts organizations.
