About Our Auction

Over 5000 trees and shrubs consisting of 110 species are available for sale to raise money for United Way of Posey County. All trees are compatible with the area. A majority of trees are native species, but does include some non-native, non-invasive species.

Trees are grown in Southern Indiana soil using a patented method that promotes the growth of a well-developed root structure, with no girdling or tangled roots, common with trees grown in tradition containers. Trees are provided in a 20 or 24 inch tall, 6 or 8 inch diameter container that has no bottom, weighing between 30 and 50 pounds. The trees are easy to plant in a 12-inch diameter hole of the proper depth.

These trees will not generally require staking but taller ones may. Trees, when planted and then properly cared for, will overtake a larger more expensive tree planted at the same time within 3 to 4 years.
Planting and tree care instructions will be provided.

Trees and shrubs are priced from $15 to $25, depending on the height and tree structure. For most trees, a wide variety are available to choose from. Trees are priced at $20 and shrubs at $15. Trees are guaranteed for one year if planted and cared for properly. A portion of the revenue will be donated to the 2020 United Way of Posey County Fund Drive.

Trees can be picked up by appointment at one of two nursery locations. Call Tom Guggenheim at 812-781-8113 or at to schedule a pickup date and time. Payment can be by cash or check.
