1866 Tumbulgum Rum: Bottle 001

1866 Tumbulgum Rum is being released to celebrate 150 years of community at Tumbulgum, established in 1866 as a small river port at the junction of the Tweed and Rous Rivers. The fertile soil and pure waters of the valley quickly spurred the establishment of cane farms and sugar mills and it wasn't long before moonshine began flowing from copper stills around the valley.

This limited release is a blend of paddock to bottle agricole rum made from fresh, first press cane juice from the inaugural harvest of the Founder’s Plot, Husk Plantation. The Founder’s Plot was the first cane planted on the property in decades, and marked the dawn of a new era in rum production for Tumbulgum and for the Tweed Valley.

1866 Tumbulgum Rum is a rich blend with notes of toasted oak, vanilla and caramel grown, crushed, distilled and bottled in Tumbulgum.

All proceeds collected from the sale of Bottle 001 will be donated to the Tumbulgum Community Association to continue to improve and enrich village life.
