About Our Auction

Sponsor a trail and help MRWA maintain and build more singletrack trails!

The McIntosh Run Watershed Association (MRWA) has built 24 km of singletrack trails and with your help we can continue the momentum.

How does the Trail Sponsorship Auction work?
You make the winning bid on a trail.
We help you get seen by thousands of trail users.
Your support makes the trail network bigger and better!

We are auctioning sponsorship of these 7 trails for a 2-year term:
- Clark Kent
- Joe Cracker
- Lou's Basement
- The Chimney
- Time Flies
- Time Out
- Wrinkle
Your support is recognized on & off trail.

If you win the auction, your logo will be featured on each trail sign, our online maps and shared on our social media channels and website.

Most importantly, you will be supporting a project that improves the health and happiness of Halifax residents, attracts new residents and visitors, and fosters appreciation for natural wild places.

If your bid is not the winner or the trail auction doesn't suit you, we hope that you will consider making a contribution another way. There are other options to support MRWA as an individual (https://mcintoshrun.ca/donate-to-trails/) or as a sponsor (https://mcintoshrun.ca/sponsorship/).

If you don't want to take any chances of being out-bid on your trail, you can claim it now at the "Buy Now" price! This will remove the trail from the bidding process, and you'll get a note about how to send your payment.

MRWA has applied for a grant from the Province of Nova Scotia that requires 2/3 matching funds, so every $100 donation leverages $50 from the Province. 150% of your donation goes to building trails!

Your sponsorship will help us pay the amazing MRWA Trail Crew to perform important maintenance work on our existing trails. Use of the McIntosh Run Trails has quadrupled during the last two years, and some of the trails are showing the wear. We'll put love back into the trails to keep them in great condition and also make them more resilient to wet weather (= more trail days!).

We hope that you will help MRWA maintain and build more great singletrack trails in the McIntosh Run Trail Network!

MRWA has applied for a Letter of Authority from the Department of Lands and Forestry to develop Phase 2 of the trail network which would add 16 km of new trails at all levels and through some amazing new terrain. Sponsorships will also help leverage government grant funds to build Phase 2!

MRWA is not a Registered Charity so we can't provide a tax receipt directly. Tax-deductible donations can be made to MRWA through the Nova Scotia Trails Federation with a 10% fee. To learn more about this option please contact us.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
Environmental stewardship of the watershed
High-quality, sustainable trails that provide memorable experiences for residents and visitors
Respect for First Nations traditional territory and land uses
Respect and understanding between diverse nonmotorized trail users
Partnerships and collaboration with land owners, other associations, and businesses
Benefits for residents of adjacent communities, greater Halifax, and visitors.

New trails in 2020-21: Something for everyone!

"Clark Kent" and "Joe Cracker" are easy trails at either end of the trail network, offering entry-level singletrack opportunities for new trail users, and some flowy fun for everyone.

"Time Flies", "Time Out" and "Wrinkle" challenge advanced trail users and showcase more amazing terrain in the McIntosh Run Watershed.

"Orange Jelly" and "Granitude" add 2 km and a new access trail in the middle of the network. The fun lines and flow are sure to bring smiles to a lot of trail users!

We have also invested in trail maintenance and upgrades on the existing trail network.

Trails are approved under land use agreements with the landowners — the city of Halifax and Provincial Crown land managed by NS-DLF.
