The Best of Mississippi Mills

The Friends of MMPL is a volunteer organization that raises funds to support programming at the Almonte and Pakenham branches of MMPL.  Last year, thanks to your participation and generosity, we were able to donate over $22,000 to the library.  In 2026 we have already donated $10,000 to support a Children's Programmer at the Pakenham branch of the library, ensuring children's programming for the entire year.   The Friends also support the library to ensure the continuation of the no-fines policy.  Our auction not only raises funds for the library, it offers local businesses and organization free publicity on the auction site, and participants an opportunity to shop locally.

The Friends of MMPL consists of a group of enthusiastic volunteers committed to raising funds to support programming at the Almonte and Pakenham Branches of the library.  From 2019- 2024  we have managed to donate almost $45,500 to programs such as Kids Summer Camps, Fine Free Library, increased access to digital services, such as Kanopy and Libby, and new Book Club sets.  To do this we have organized an annual silent auction, a staged play reading, an annual book sale, 2 live!@the library concerts, and a Christmas book sale.  Watch the Humm, the Millstone, and local social media for upcoming events.
