About Arts Council of Moore County
Founded in 1973, the Arts Council of Moore County (ACMC) is a charitable, nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire and strengthen our community though the arts. We contribute significantly to the region’s quality of life by hosting world-class visual and performance artists with offerings reflective of our rich diversity, facilitating access to the arts for all people.
ACMC is the center of a thriving creative district, with arts and cultural industries generating $13.2 million in local economic activity annually (2015 Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 study by Americans for the Arts). We serve this economy in various ways, including showcasing hundreds of artists, and supporting arts organizations with grants, ticket sales, and promotions. We are also the NC Arts Council’s Designated County Partner for administering the Grassroots Grants and the Artist Support Grant programs.
Thousands of children have been profoundly impacted as a result of our Youth Programs. We serve over 15,000 children each year in every school – public, private, charter, and home schools. We’ve also awarded over $53,000 in scholarships to talented kids. These programs rely completely on grants and community support.
Your support of the Arts Council is the ultimate expression of faith in our goal of sustaining our community as a place resilient with the arts at its core.
About Our Auction
The Arts Council of Moore County and sponsors, Durant C. Holler III and Lin Hutaff/Lin Hutaff’s Pinehurst Realty Group, are proud to announce an online auction scheduled from September 1-11, 2020. "Bid & Win for Moore Arts" auction was organized to help ACMC overcome the strain of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event features an amazing collection of auction items, from vacations to dinner parties; fabulous jewelry to great artwork. Experience the excitement of bidding for Moore art.
Online bidding will be available from September 1-11, 2020. Also, bid sheets will be on display at Campbell House Galleries for the duration of the auction. ACMC staff will be happy to place your online bid for you, if you wish.
Proceeds from this event will provide critical operating support to the Arts Council by replacing funds lost due to the cancellation of numerous programs due to COVID-19. We need your help.
The Arts Council’s offices and galleries are located at Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines). Our temporary, weekday gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, please call 910-692-2787 or visit www.MooreArt.org.
