CELEBRATING 70 YEARS IN BUSINESS, CRESWICK WOOLLEN MILLS CREATES LIMITED EDITION ART COLLECTION WITH CELEBRATED ARTIST TAMMY KANAT

At Creswick Woollen Mills' 70th Anniversary event on the 27th October Tammy Kanat created a unique fibre-art piece from high quality Creswick Woollen Mill’s alpaca wool. This one of a kind wall-hanging has inspired Creswick Woollen Mills' new homewares collection 'Tammy Kanat for Creswick'.
Creswick Woollen Mills Executive Director, Boaz Herszfeld says “The authenticity and quality of Tammy’s work was such a big motivator for us – it was an easy decision to collaborate with her to commemorate the anniversary with unique and genuinely Australian products. We have long known about her stunning art, and knew we could create something special to reflect the story of the business in a contemporary way. I couldn’t be happier with the art created. I am thrilled by the wall-hanging that was created using our natural fibres."
Tammy commented, “Creswick Woollen Mills are well known as an iconic Australian brand, and a huge success story in our manufacturing and textiles history. So when the opportunity arose to help celebrate their incredible 70 year anniversary, I jumped at the chance! I went straight to the Mill in Creswick to get a feel for the place and the factory, to soak up the atmosphere, and collect some beautiful raw alpaca fleece, and got to work. I can’t wait to share the pieces that will reflect the gorgeous heritage of Creswick Woollen Mills and celebrate their 7 decades of innovation, hard work and perseverance”.

This beautiful large scale 2m x 2m textile art will now be auctioned with proceeds going to the Salvation Army, a charity organisation that Creswick Woollen Mills have continued to support over many years.
The Salvation Army bring hope and assistance for people who are homeless or escaping violence, are trapped in addiction or battling mental illness, are affected by disasters or have financial troubles and for anyone feeling hopeless.
