Standing Strong to Support Youth

Teen pregnancy is at an all-time low in the U.S. and that is great news. But these declines are being threatened by the abrupt changes in funding priorities within the federal government. Support for comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and inclusive sex education has been cut across the U.S. leaving organizations and professionals without the critical resources they need to support young people.

As the only national membership agency in this arena, we believe it is our responsibility to fill this resource gap; thus we created the Center for Research and Innovation, which will house critical on-line resources for this field. By participating in this auction, you not only win great prizes, but you help support America's young people to achieve the future they deserve.

And if you can, please join us for a live event March 16th at Falls Church Distillers in Falls Church, Virginia. Twenty percent of all food and drink sales for the day will support the Center and staff of Healthy Teen Network will be on-site from 4:00-7:00 pm to engage in stimulating conversation, auction even more items, provide distillery tours and more. Since 1979, Healthy Teen Network has supported organizations and professionals who work with teens and young adults. With a focus on sexual and reproductive health, we promote the use of evidence-based, culturally appropriate education and youth-friendly services so that all young people can have the future they deserve.

Our field is facing critical challenges with the abrupt disruption of federal funding that has prematurely ended over 84 grants across the US leaving the field without the resources and support they need to do their work. As the only national membership agency in this arena, we believe it is our continued responsibility to provide resources and supports to the field; thus we have developed the Center for Research and Innovation.

Through the Center, we will continue to provide essential, on-line resources so that young people continue to have the information and services they need to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health and can stay safe. The proceeds from this silent auction, and sister event March 16th at Falls Church Distillers in Falls Church VA, will directly support development of resources for the Center.
