Player Sponsorship Auction for the 2026/27 season. 

Following another successful year in Regional 1, we are delighted to once again offer the opportunity for businesses, families and supporters to sponsor their favourite player through our NEW online auction. 

This season promises to be another exciting chapter for the club. The Southend Saxons will once again compete in Regional 1, while our Priors (2nd XV) return to the Essex leagues and begin s their journey in Essex Counties 1. Your support plays a vital role in helping both squads compete, develop and represent the club with pride. 

Whether you're a local business looking to promote your brand or simply a supporter wanting to back your favourite player, every sponsorship makes a real difference. 

By sponsoring a player, you are investing in more than just an individual—you are helping Southend RFC continue to grow, develop local talent and compete at a high level.

Successful sponsors will receive:

• Two invitations to an exclusive Sponsors' Lunch.

Following the close of the auction, all successful bidders will be contacted and invoiced. If you are a business that has bought the player VAT will be added when invoiced.

About Southend Rugby Football Club

Established in 1870, Southend Rugby Football Club has been at the heart of the local community for over 150 years. We are a welcoming, family-friendly club built on pride, ambition and a passion for rugby.

Whether you're an experienced player, completely new to the game, a volunteer or simply enjoy supporting from the touchline, there is a place for you at Southend RFC. We provide rugby for all ages and abilities, from Minis and Youth through to Senior Men, Women and Veterans, creating an environment where players can develop, friendships are formed and lifelong memories are made.

Our First XV, the Southend Saxons, compete in Regional 1 (Level 5) of the RFU league structure following promotion during the 2023/24 season. The squad is proudly built around talented local players from across Essex, many of whom have represented the club for over 100 league appearances.

The club is led by Director of Rugby Sid Hoult, who represented Southend as a player from 2004 to 2014 before joining the coaching team in 2017. Alongside a committed coaching and support staff, the club continues to build an ambitious rugby programme centred around developing players, maintaining high standards and creating a strong club culture.

Training takes place twice each week, with a focus on continuous improvement, player development and representing Southend RFC with pride both on and off the field.



Venue Hire at Southend RFC

Southend Rugby Club is more than just a rugby venue. Our spacious clubhouse is available to hire throughout the year for a wide range of private and corporate events.

Our function room can accommodate up to 250 guests and features:
 

• A large character-filled function hall.
• Outdoor patio area.
• Separate catering preparation room.
• Fully licensed and stocked bar.
• Friendly and experienced bar staff.
• Bluetooth sound system.
• Multiple TV screens for presentations and photo displays.
• Outdoor BBQ facilities (subject to availability).

You are free to personalise your event by choosing your own decorations, caterers, entertainment, DJs, bands or live music, making every occasion unique to you.

Wake & Celebration of Life Packages
 
We understand how important it is to celebrate the life of a loved one with dignity and care.
 
Our three-hour wake package includes private hire of the function room, fully prepared tables and access to our licensed bar, serving both hot drinks and freshly ground coffee. Unlimited self-service tea and coffee can also be arranged.
 
You're welcome to organise your own catering, while we can provide a dedicated remembrance table for photographs, flowers and memory books. Background music can be played throughout the venue, and photographs can be displayed on our TV screens to create a personal and meaningful tribute.
 
Our experienced team will work closely with you to ensure every detail is handled with sensitivity, allowing family and friends to come together in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
