The lovely work of art is donated by Patty Corcoran to support Solaris. Please bid high and often!
After Patricia Corcoran spent her career in higher education caring for her students’ well being and helping them find their spark and passion, her joy of life and appreciation of human nature and natural beauty now find expression through her life as a painter. Patty has painted her whole life. As she grew up watching her painter mother's work progress, she always felt her own truest self was that of an artist, as well. She knew that some day the artist would emerge as her primary identity. Patty's days are now filled with creating art, much of it derived from walking the beautiful trails of Hinesburg, Vermont where she lives with her husband, Andres Roomet and their bounding golden doodle, Pokey. Patty spends her summers painting in Northeast Harbor, Maine where she is inspired by the coast and landscape of Mt. Desert island. You can see more at https://pattycorcoran.com/
This piece as well as several of her other works can be seen in person at her show currently running at the T. W. Wood Gallery at the Center for Arts and Learning at 46 Barre Street in Montpelier until March 25, 2023
About Solaris Vocal Ensemble
Solaris performs in multiple Vermont communities throughout the year, bringing a variety of music to experience and enjoy. Based in Burlington, Vermont, this choir of twenty-four auditioned singers is led by Artistic Director, Dr. Dawn Willis. Solaris performs a wide variety of choral literature ranging from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century – from evocative and introspective a cappella selections to more expansive dramatic works involving a variety of instrumental forces.
Solaris Vocal Ensemble is dedicated to the belief that choral music – the powerful combination of music and language – can energize and inspire the human spirit. Our mission is to bring light and meaning into great choral works that span the ages, through compelling performances imbued with passion and musical artistry.
