10th Annual Scoliosis Awareness Walk Auction

June is Scoliosis Awareness Month, so during the month of June 2025, Scoliosis Awareness Ottawa alongside the Scoliosis Early Detection Coalition, the Scoliosis Resource Centre and CHEO Foundation will be raising money for scoliosis research at CHEO to further our understanding of this spinal condition that affects 2-4% of children and adolescents.

The Scoliosis Resource Centre and Scoliosis Awareness Ottawa's goal is to raise awareness about scoliosis and to provide support to scoliosis warriors and their families.  Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine affecting 2-4% of children and adolescents.  Of these cases, 80% are of unknown cause.  Learning the signs of scoliosis such as back, shoulder and hip asymmetry can lead to earlier treatments and the potential avoidance of surgery.  It's also important to understand the long-term effects of scoliosis on a patient's mental and physical health.
