About Our Auction

For the second year in a row, the Saturna Island Lamb BBQ will not take place on July 1st, 2021. This year, we are raising funds through a 'first of its kind' on Saturna - an on-line silent auction.

Items up for auction have been donated by Saturna residents and local businesses on the island and businesses in nearby Sidney.

The 23 Art Lambs in the auction were brought to life by an idea of Carlou’s, turned into wooden cutouts by valiant island woodworkers and dispatched to artists far and wide. Some weeks later they frolicked back to the fold - with entirely new personalities.

The results are both wondrous and amazing; scan through our auction site and see for yourself. And don't forget - they are all looking for new homes!

A few technical details about our Saturna lambs: The lambs are 24 inches long and 21 inches tall, and are made from finest Russian Birch Plywood, 6mm thick.
Final weight really depends on materials used in decor – they are "quite light" to "medium light" (and no we are not going to weigh the lambs! :)) Some are quite fragile so won't travel well - but they can graze happily on Saturna until you can collect them.

About Saturna Community Club

The Saturna Community Club is the oldest organization on Saturna island. It has been in existence since 1932 and oversees a large number of committees that deal with various aspects of island life. Some of the committees are: health services, recycling, Better at Home, and cemetery.

The Saturna Heritage Centre lives on fundraising and volunteer work.
We greatly appreciate your financial support as it helps us maintain the Fog Alarm Building (FAB) and allows us to carry out exciting projects!

The Saturna Heritage Centre is located in the Fog Alarm Building (FAB), at East Point (called “Tekteksen”, the ‘Long Nose’ in the Coast Salish Sencoten language) on Saturna Island, British Columbia.
The FAB, historically part of the East Point Light Station, is a designated Canadian Heritage Light Station, one of the first of more than 100 light stations across Canada to receive heritage protection by the Canadian government to honour Canada’s maritime history. The FAB at East Point is one of the most iconic places in the southern Gulf Islands. It is home to the island archives, natural history exhibits, heritage displays, the gift shop, and much more.
