Park City Band Program Sweetheart Gala 2019

Proceeds from this auction support EIGHT different music performance groups throughout the year in a nearly unlimited range of ways, providing hundreds of students with instruction, instruments, uniforms, transportation, performance expenses, and – most importantly - the opportunity to participate in some of the state’s best music programs.

Not surprisingly, an organization with this many programs for such a broad range of students has expenses that are simply not covered in a budget set by the school district. Every year, the Wind and Percussion Performing Artists of the Park City School District - comprised of two Concert Bands, two Jazz Ensembles, two Percussion Ensembles, the Marching Band, and the Pep Band - perform not only locally, but at the Region, State and National levels.

Beyond simply learning to play music, these students are gaining life skills and building confidence through cooperation and performance. As the Director of Percussion at PCHS Brett Hughes says, "From day one, we teach that this is all about the group. Yes, they are individuals and we support and love them, but ultimately, the program is all about the good of the group. Every decision we make reflects that, and that's a huge emotional step these kids take so early in their lives."

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Sweetheart Gala this Friday, February 8th -- the jazz band has been practicing tirelessly and many volunteers have been toiling away to make this evening special for you!

Our auction will end online at 3 pm on Friday, February 8th, and reopen as a paper-and-pencil auction at 6 pm at the Gala. If there is something you had your eye on, make sure you get your bid in!
